Starting in fifth place, Louis Delétraz’ chances of a podium finish evaporated at the start when he stalled his car on the grid. Speaking after the race, Delétraz seemed certain a technical issue was to blame and not driver error.
“I stalled the car, but on the data, there is something wrong. It should roll, not stop, anyway, it should have anti-stall but nothing happened. It just launched the car forward and stopped.”
Despite picking up some places at the start, Delétraz was unable to make much progress and had to settle for tenth place and one single point to show for this efforts.
“I think the first bit [of the race] was alright, but when you start that far back everyone is so far away you cannot catch. Then we had a breaking issue; my pedal got long and I couldn’t slow enough so not the perfect day but it will be fixed for tomorrow.”
Delétraz remains second in the championship but has seen Tom Dillmann’s lead over him extended from 22 points to 33.
