Matthieu Vaxivière made it back-to-back pole positions at Silverstone this weekend, just 0.013s ahead of yesterday’s race winner Roy Nissany.
In cool and cloudy conditions, Nissany again set the early place, as he had done in yesterday’s session, before a number of drivers made improvements to mix up the standings with moments to spare.
A number of drivers including Baptista, Kanamaru, and both the Arden drivers; Panis and Orudzhev, were all found to be exceeding tracking limits at one point and had times deleted.
After seeing a collision between Orudzhev and Nissany in yesterday’s race; today we have the intriguing proposition of seeing them go side-by-side into turn one, as Orudzhev qualified just one place behind Nissany in third.
Nissany’s Lotus team mate Binder will hope to reach the podium again today from fourth on the grid, and Aurélien Panis will line up fifth alongside championship leader Tom Dillmann.
Louis Deletraz and Pietro Fittipaldi will occupy positions seven and eight on an all-Fortec fourth row, ahead of Baptista, Celis, the Teo Martin pair of Kanamaru & Visser, and Durango veteran Giuseppe Cipriani.
